SIDC joins forces with NGO to build up a dream for children

In the new year of 2023, Shanghai International Dance Center joins forces with NGO group “Yi Ge Cun Xiao” to support education with dance. The joint action is a bridge that connects big city and rural areas, which will listen to the yearnings for the mountains and build up hope and dreams in an underdeveloped environment.

“Yi Ge Cun Xiao” is a grassroot charity group dedicated in support education. Established in 2008, it has been carrying out one-one sponsor projects with the philosophy of “Education is the best charity and freedom is the best public benefit” for 14 years. The group treated donation as a profession and deployed their expertise in helping good Samaritans and finding social support for rural families. So far, they have helped more than 9000 students from 33 schools across Sichuan, Yunnan and Ningxia. Their consistent efforts over past decade have received great support and much recognition.

A get-together of amateurs and professional dancers to celebrate the Lantern Festival

Since 2018, Shanghai International Dance Center has been hosting “Dance for the Lantern Festival” for five consecutive years. Every year we invite dance lovers to take the professional stage of the center, to dance and shine. The recruitment of the event started in October 2022 and attracted many dance lovers and groups. More than 10 performances with different styles and forms are selected after video and online screening. They will bring warmth to this festival through their dance movements.

A special stage presents various dancing styles and grassroots dancers

As many grassroot dance groups will bring their best performance on this special festival, you’ll have the chance to see a feast of various dance styles from ancient times to modern days, from Chin and abroad: the elegant ballet, the popular ethnic dance, the dynamic street dance, the vibrant swing dance, the trendy jazz, the cute children dance, the unique contemporary dance… all in one show to celebrate the Lantern Festival.

Frequently Asked Questions
  • Can I choose a specific seat?

Unfortunately, no. Ticketing systems in China vary from venue to venue, and many are not advanced enough to offer specific seat selection. The event promoters and venues that we work with currently have no systems in place that allow third party ticketing agents to access their respective floors plans. However, whenever you buy a ticket from us, you will automatically receive the best available seats within the category you've selected. Sometime the tickets price categories' name won't be matched on the actually physical tickets. But the value will be the same you choose.

  • How do I pay for my tickets?

We have a couple of payment options available; 1. Online Payment: We now support WeChat and Alipay for online purchases. Simply scan the QR the payment page directs you to. 2. Cash/Card on Delivery: You can also pay our delivery staff directly either in cash, or with a local UnionPay card. Overseas clients can also pay via bank transfer, however, you’ll need to send us an email so we can sort out bank info and e-invoice. If you need a fapiao for your purchase, then please email us the relevant details (company title, tax number and your order number) .

  • What happens if the show gets cancelled? Will I get my money back?

Yes, SmartTickets always refunds ticket purchases if a show gets cancelled. This guarantee is one of the reasons that people choose to purchase through SmartTickets instead of less reliable sources. Please note, though, that we only refund the face value of the tickets.

  • I live outside Shanghai, how can I get my tickets?

We can deliver the tickets to you through Shunfeng Express if you are located outside Shanghai. For this option, purchase the tickets online using Alipay or WeChat. Please fill in the booking information with your address in Chinese to avoid confusion in the delivery process. Please note: We can only accept cash for deliveries within certain Shanghai area (for details, see the "cash on delivery" area map). Overseas customers may also choose the bank transfer option by emailing us. We will then send you an invoice with the bank transfer info after you’ve placed the order. However, the delivery address must be in Shanghai, for example, to a hotel. For more details, please contact us.

  • Oops! I missed the online payment QR code the first time!

If you missed your payment QR code, you can find it again on the Order Status page. Enter your booking code and email address, then click the big green "Pending Payment" button. Please note: online payment orders will automatically be canceled if the payment is not completed within 30 mins.

  • Can I pay online with a credit card?

Unfortunately, no. We've been working to implement an online payment system, which should be available soon! The nature of risk management and licensing issues with online payments made within China makes it a particularly delicate process.

  • If I lose my ticket, can I get a replacement?

Unfortunately, all physical tickets are not replaceable. The concert venues have fixed seat numbers, and to avoid conflicts caused by duplicate tickets with the same seats, ticketing agencies and promoters are not permitted to print tickets twice. If you've lost your e-ticket, you can login to the order status page and resend the e-ticket to your email.
